Brits urged to check out South Africas KwaZulu-Natal regionBrits travelling on cheap flights to South Africa should check out its KwaZulu-Natal region, according to the country's tourism board.

The coastline of KwaZulu-Natal has a multitude of activities to enjoy.

Three of the beaches, Ramsgate, Marina Beach and Lucien, have the prestigious Blue Flag status, which means they are in excellent condition.

Lebohang Mokhesi, UK country manager for South African Tourism, said: "For those wanting to see the wild side and commune with nature, Umtamvuna Nature Reserve is a must see. A reserve which conserves plants found nowhere else in the world."

The more adventurous might want to go scuba diving on the south coast, which has excellent deep-sea diving areas at Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks.

For those travelling to South Africa over the next two months, there is the amazing natural occurrence of the annual sardine migration to observe.

A sardine festival is also held at the same time celebrating this wonder of the natural world.
