Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse lounge at Heathrow allegedly offers the "ultimate pre-flight experience" even for those with cheap flights to Johannesburg.

And the lounge is being used by a huge cross-section of air travellers - not just business class customers, according to Clubhouse duty manager Ben Smith.

Speaking to skyport-heathrow.co.uk, Mr Smith noted that alongside company execs and celebrities are regular passengers travelling abroad or wanting to get home.

Located in Terminal 3, the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse has a spa and swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, a library and multi-screen entertainment centre.

Commenting on the old lounge, Mr Smith said: "[It] was good and in its time it was really nice and cosy and homely but I think this lounge has taken all that and improved on it even more.

"In terms of the most popular facilities, the brasserie is definitely one of the most popular areas."

Recently, Virgin Atlantic started warning passengers with cheap flights to Delhi about the emotional content of its in-flight movies so people can avoid tear-jerking films while heading abroad.
