Cape Town ready for 'best summer ever'

Tourism Cape Town has stated this summer will be so packed full of events it will be the best season ever.

More people than before could be planning to take flights to Cape Town soon as the city pledges it will be the best summer ever in the city.

Tourism Cape Town made the claim as part of the Cape Town Routes Unlimited's (CTRU) Your Best Summer Ever campaign.

The tourism group has joined together with hundreds of hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions and wellness spas to offer a range of great discounts on their services across the summer months.

"CTRU has canvassed the industry to come up with some great deals and we are ready to welcome visitors from South Africa and abroad to enjoy their Best Summer Ever," said Calvyn Gilfellan, chief executive officer of CTRU.

She added the naming of Table Mountain as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature is also use to bring more people to the city.

Last month, Bernard Weber, founder-president of the New Seven Wonders of Nature campaign, called on residents and people taking flights to Cape Town alike to vote for the mountain.
