Cape Town looking to attract more tourists People taking flights to Cape Town could find the destination is becoming increasingly popular among travellers.

The city of Cape Town has announced plans to attract even more visitors from the east to the city during 2012, with the plan to emphasise the entire city as a great destination, rather than just focusing on specific sights, the Cape Argus reported.

Nombulelo Mfeka, city director for tourism, said: "We also have to speak to the cultural differences."

Although Cape Town has not started to actively promote itself across much of Asia yet, there has already been a strong level of interest seen, which has been encouraged by Cape Town recently receiving a number of accolades for its tourist attractions.

Some people could be planning on booking flights to Cape Town in the coming weeks, after the city stated this summer was set to be the city's best ever, thanks to the range of events it has planned.
