Ballet dancers to compete in Cape Town contest People taking flights to Cape Town later this month with a fondness of ballet could see some of the world's most popular performers competing at the Third Cape Town International Ballet Competition.

Taking place at the city's Artscape venue, the event will see 50 ballet dancers from around the world travelling to Cape Town to take part in the performances.

Beginning on February 27th, the competition is seen as the best of its kind in Africa and is even considered as being the Olympics of the ballet world.

Dancers of both genders and of a range of ages will compete, with separate categories created for male and female dancers, as well as for those aged 15 to 18 years old and 19 to 28 years old.

A range of artistic events are held across the year that could interest people on flights to Cape Town, with the city soon to host an exhibition of aboriginal Australian art as part of its world tour.
