Austrian Airlines resumes flights to BangkokAustrian Airlines has become the latest carrier to announce that it will resume its flights to Bangkok following the recent unrest seen in the Thai capital.

Most travel to the country's airports had been suspended after fears of increased violence around the major tourist resorts.

However, both Qantas and Etihad announced yesterday (December 4th) that they are to begin offering flights to Bangkok again.

Now, Austrian Airlines has followed suit and all of its Thailand flights will operate from Bangkok again, instead of the regional airports it had been using.

"Austrian Airlines has been the single European airline that managed to keep up regular flight operations in the last week. Since the crisis began, [we] managed to bring over 1,800 passengers safely and quickly back to Europe," a spokesperson for the company said.

Qantas said its flights will begin again this Saturday (December 6th), after negotiations with Thai authorities proved successful.
