Longer holidays to Thailand will be popularAs people seek to get as much value as they can from their trips abroad, they will take longer breaks and pick more interesting destinations, it has been claimed.

This will lead to holidays in Thailand and in particular Angkor Wat, as well as other locations like Machu Picchu and the Masai Mara, becoming more popular, Justin Francis of responsibletravel.com opined.

"Travellers will want to ensure they are not disappointed. And what could be more classic than a small group adventure holiday that takes in a number of destinations and experiences - proving great value for money too," the expert said.

Thailand came in at number three on a list of the company's most popular destinations.

Anyone looking for voluntourism holidays in Thailand could consider a community-based scheme called the Koh Yao Noi Homestay Club.

This allows tourists to stay in the homes of host families on the island, which is close to Bangkok, putting 80 per cent of the money straight back into the community.
