As people seek to get as much value as they can from their trips abroad, they will take longer breaks and pick more interesting destinations, it has been claimed.

This will lead to holidays in Thailand and in particular Angkor Wat, as well as other locations like Machu Picchu and the Masai Mara, becoming more popular, Justin Francis of responsibletravel.com opined.

Thailand came in at number three on a list of the company's most popular destinations.

This allows tourists to stay in the homes of host families on the island, which is close to Bangkok, putting 80 per cent of the money straight back into the community.
