Britons will go on holiday before JuneNew research has revealed the travel plans of people in Britain and the rest of Europe - and they don't involve staying at home and counting the pennies.

According to a poll carried out by Travelzoo, 95 per cent of people in Europe intend to go on holiday between now and the end of June, while 35 per cent intend to go more than once during the next six months.

Britons seemed to be the most prepared for their holidays, booking on average three months before jetting off.

They were found to be spending approximately £478 each.

Managing director of Travelzoo in Europe, Chris Loughlin, said: "The survey results bring some much needed good news for travel companies across Europe."

In related news, Alamo Rent A Car recently found that over a third of people spent less on their holidays last year than they did in 2007, although this did not stop them going altogether.
