People on holidays to Thailand may also be able to get a taste of the American Wild West, it has been reported.

According to Time magazine, the Khao Yai National Park is approximately three hours away from Bangkok by car and "counts as Thailand's cowboy country".

Locals dress in cowboy outfits - including Stetsons and chaps - to work the ranches and lasso the cattle, a look that the magazine believes may have been inspired by when Americans visited the country during the Vietnam war.

However, there is also picturesque scenery and a multitude of wildlife to look at for people who don't fancy a trip to the rodeo.

Time states that there are a number of resorts open to tourists visiting Khao Yai clustered nearby for those who need accommodation.
