People seeking holidays to Thailand should consider staying on Koh Lipe Island, it has been suggested.

This is a small place in the Andaman Sea, which can be reached easily by boat from the main tourist resorts of Koh Phi Phi, Krabi and Trang.

Although it is only two kilometres long and one kilometre wide, it has two very different beaches for tourists to enjoy; Pattaya Beach with its bars and restaurants and Sunrise Beach, with its laidback attitude and excellent coastline for divers.

Ko Lipe is situated inside the Tarutao National Marine Park, but even though it is protected and has an exclusive atmosphere, that does not mean its prices are sky-high.

There is plenty of accommodation, ranging from backpackers' huts on the beach, to five-star hotel resorts, the tourist board states.

Flights to Thailand can be booked through Thai Airways, following which people can plan their route to Ko Lipe via boat.Meet the editors...
