A travel writer for California's Best Syndication, referred to only as Suchi, said that the destination is ideal for holidaymakers, whether they want a peaceful break or a more adventurous trip.

The second largest Thai island after Phuket, Koh Samui is popular with travellers thanks to its proximity to Bangkok and its idyllic scenery.

"Whether you're looking for isolated beaches, great shopping, delicious dining or an exciting nightlife, Koh Samui offers everything," Suchi remarked.

The expert suggested that anyone visiting Koh Samui should check out the beaches, including Chaweng Beach, Lamai Beach, Bophut and Mae Nam West.
