Take holidays to Thailand to experience Coronation DayThose interested in foreign cultural events may wish to take holidays to Thailand in order to experience Coronation Day in Bangkok on May 5th.

Celebrating the 59th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the Thai throne - the country's longest reigning monarch - the event features a number of different celebrations for several different religions in the run-up to the big day.

On May 3rd, there will be a Buddhist ceremony at Amarindra Vinichai Hall in the Grand Palace, while a Brahmanic event and another Buddhist one take place on May 4th, What's on When reports.

Finally, on Coronation Day itself, a feast occurs in Bangkok and the king dresses in full regalia for a 21-gun salute by the Royal Thai Army and Navy.

Earlier this month, Best Syndication writer Suchi also recommended the Thai island of Koh Samui for holidays in the south Asian country thanks to its great beaches, excellent shopping centres and fine dining.Meet the editors...
