Passengers flying to Dubai will be able to benefit from the world's best duty free shopping, according to the findings of the World Airport Awards.

Based on the results of a survey of 8.6 million airline passengers of more than 190 worldwide airports, travellers named Dubai airport as having the best duty free facilities.

Holidaymakers flying to Africa named Cape Town as the best airport on the continent based on general airport customer facilities and front-line customer service.

Those looking for good dining when flying to Bangkok may be pleased to know that the airport was named among the top three airports when it came to cuisine in the World Airport Awards.

According to Skytrax, who carried out the survey: "The World Airport Survey is the world's leading independent study of airport standards and is not a subscriber-based study. It offers the opportunity for every airport in the world to be included."
