Once travellers have booked their cheap flight to Bangkok, they can prepare for their holiday in Thailand by voting for their favourite Thai restaurant.

Tourism Thailand and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's food magazine show The F Word are looking for the best local restaurant to be crowned by the show.

Holidaymakers are invited to tell the Tourism Authority of Thailand about their favourite local Thai restaurant so the country's cuisine can win the title.

Travellers will also be able to apply for seats in The F Word restaurant once they have nominated an eatery.

However, once travellers arrive on their holiday in Thailand, they will be able to taste the authentic cuisine in its homeland.

"Thai food is known for its enthusiastic use of fresh herbs and spices as well as fish sauce," explained the tourism authority.

If travellers are taking a holiday in Thailand's central region, they may find the food has a "smooth and lasting taste with a touch of sweetness", the national culture commission stated.Meet the editors...
