Those who have booked flights to Thailand will no doubt be pleased to hear that it is “business as usual” in the country.

On Tuesday (June 8th) Visa and the Tourism Authority of Thailand announced plans for the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, which is aimed to entice tourists and shoppers alike back to the country.

Somboon Krobteeranon, Thailand manager for Visa, said: “This year is more important than ever as the country's tourism industry aims to restore international confidence. The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the breadth and depth of value across the country.”

During the event, Visa cardholders can enjoy up to 80 per cent discounts on products and activities throughout the capital city of Bangkok and other areas of Thailand.

The recent Shop on the Beach event in Pattaya proved a resounding success, with hundreds of tourists splashing their cash on goods in the city. The festival was hoped to raise retailers’ spirits after the recent rioting in the country.
