The new ShaSa Resort & Residences in Koh Samui could appeal to those taking cheap flights to Thailand.

It will be Sterling Design's first Thailand venture and it is the 19th Thai hotel for partner Preferred Hotel Group (PHG).

The key design feature of the new resort will be centred on water with a fountain and three swimming pools that all run into the sea. Guests will also be able to enjoy a hydrotherapy pool and a spa as well as a restaurant serving a range of Thai and other cuisine.

For those planning to keep in shape while on vacation, the resort also offers a top-class fitness facility.

"The Sterling Design brand is perfectly suited to Thailand's home-grown boutique properties representing great style and personality with affordable luxury," explained Mark Simmons, area managing director Asia, PHG.

PHG's other Thailand hotels include Lebu at State Tower and the Landmark in Bangkok.
