Footballers arrive in ThailandLeicester City football club have landed in Bangkok ahead of their friendly match against Thailand's national team.

Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson believes the fixture on Saturday will help improve the term's performance back home. A good result will be especially welcomed by fans as the club are currently third from bottom of the Championship league table.

"It's good," explained the former England manger to BBC Radio Leicester.

"Maybe it's like a new start for the club. I think it's very good to have one week away from everything," he added.

Fans may still be able to get cheap flights to Thailand in time for the match, which will be held at the Supachalasai stadium this weekend.

Thailand is also set to host another sporting event next month. The fifth FIVB Swatch World Tour female beach volleyball arrives in Phuket on November 2nd for the Thailand Open and the competition runs until November 7th.
