Tiger Woods plans flight to ThailandTiger Woods is set to return to Thailand to play in a one-day golf tournament.

It is the first time the golfer has returned to Thailand in a decade but he is reported to be looking forward to visiting his mother's birth country.

"The last time I played in Thailand was in 2000. I am really looking forward to coming back and hopefully win it all," said Mr Woods, reports AP.

He added: "The Thai people never fail to impress me with their warm and genuine hospitality. This is indeed a good opportunity to give something back to them."

Other golfers taking flights to Thailand for the special golfing ceremony to celebrate King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 60th year of reign, include Englishman Paul Casey and Camilo Villegas of Columbia.

The special tournament will take place at Thailand's Amata Spring Country Club. Located in Chonburi, the club has a world-class golfing course that can play to over 7,450 yards.
