Thailand tourism aims to attract young professionalsA new initiative could in the long-term help to boost the number of young professionals taking flights to Thailand.

Initially, the new Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) campaign will focus on encouraging more young Thai-based professionals to discover the region's attractions but it could play a role in promoting the country's worldwide appeal, reports Phuketindex.com

It is estimated that 21 per cent of Thailand's population are under the age of 15, so the TAT have produced a online marketing strategy and accompanying mini travel guidebook to help promote budget travel attractions.

Prakit Piriyakiat, deputy governor for marketing communication at TAT explained: "The campaign will run until February 2011 and be conducted via online media and social media, accompanied by road shows to various office buildings in Bangkok and the budget travel mini guide book."

Many travellers could be tempted by Thailand's weather, which ranges from 19 to 38 degrees C.
