Technology to promote ThailandThe Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a new application to help promote the region's wide range of attractions.

Digital marketing is set to play a key role in encouraging more people to take flights to Thailand and TAT believes the new mobile application for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android is a good way to raise the country's international profile.

Suraphon Svetasreni, the governor of TAT, explained: "We introduced the Amazing Thailand mobile application because they succeed in promoting tourism through the online market to catch up to the digital world by using digital marketing and social media marketing."

The application has around 10,000 content items that focus on tourism in Thailand and provide information on events, festivals as well as guides to eating out and shopping. Users can also use GPS to search for nearby attractions and share information on their Thai experience via Facebook and Twitter.

Thailand is ideal for a winter sun break with temperatures ranging from 19 to 38 degrees Celsius.
