Delta Airlines is planning to offer passengers on long-haul international flights the option to upgrade to its new Economy Comfort seats.

The new class is being introduced this summer on a number of flights and will allow travellers to opt for additional leg room and 50 per cent more recline space than in the standard economy class.

Glen Hauenstein, Delta's executive vice-president of marketing and network planning, explained the new option will help to improve customer choice and service.

"Economy Comfort is one of many elements Delta is committed to delivering to our customers as part of a more than $2 billion investment we are making in the air and on the ground to improve the customer experience and position Delta as a leader in customer service," he added.

Delta operates from a number of airports worldwide including offering flights to Thailand.
