Thailand is the tops for BBC broadcaster Jenni Murray Radio 4 broadcaster Jenni Murray has recommended Thailand as her top holiday destination, naming the south-east Asian country as her personal favourite.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Ms Murray, who is best known for hosting Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4, said she was glad she chose to book flights to Bangkok.

She spoke in glowing terms about her stay at the luxury Banyan Tree resort in the country's capital, describing her suite as "fantastic".

While visiting her veterinarian son, Ms Murray also said she enjoyed visiting sites such as the ruins in Ayutthaya and the river Kwai.

The biggest highlight however was a trip to Elephant World. "This place is run by a charity that cares for old elephants, or ones that have been badly treated," she explained.

"They live on an amazing wild area right by the river and you can watch them bathe and even swim with them."

Brits looking to follow in her footsteps can book direct flights to Bangkok with Qantas, Eva Air and Thai Airways.
