Taxis in Bangkok have been voted by travellers to offer the best value for money.

Bangkok taxis offer great value for money

People taking cheap flights to Bangkok could be planning to make the most of the city's taxi service after it was named as the best value for money in the world.

A survey of 5,000 travellers carried out by Hotels.com found that the taxis in the Thai city were the most affordable, beating off challenges from the services in the likes of Tokyo and New York.

However, while the price has received praise, the drivers could do with taking steps to improve their skills, as they were voted among the worst.

Overall, the cabs of London took top place in the poll, with the iconic yellow taxis of New York placing second and Hong Kong vehicles taking the third place.

People taking cheap flights to Bangkok will soon be able to see an impressive new structure in the city, with work beginning on the MahaNakon skyscraper, which will be 77-storeys high.
