Charity cyclists to arrive in PhuketPeople taking flights to Phuket could see a team of charity cyclists in the city as a group from the UK are set to arrive at the end of their trek.

Raising money for the Royal British Legion and the Thai War Veterans Organization, ten riders have travelled on two wheels from Bangkok to Phuket, with their journey scheduled to end today (October 27th 2011), the Phuket Gazette reported.

All are former service personnel and their 855 km journey has helped them in their attempt to raise 500,000 Thai bhat (£10,221) for the two good causes.

"I consider myself very lucky being able to do this trip. It'll be hard I'm sure, but I am riding with a great bunch of people," rider Duncan Daiper told the newspaper.

People who prefer playing football to cycling could take flights to Phuket to take part in the forthcoming International Soccer 7s event, which will see 80 teams compete.
