Set on a glorious mile-long beach on the island’s east coast, The Residence is located a short walk from the Belle Mare and a short drive from a waterpark and leisure village. Spread over 25 acres of tropical gardens, it has a refined, colonial-style grandeur, partly inspired by the island’s turn of the century sugar plantations. It evokes an elegant old-warm charm with Asian antiques, a colonnaded lobby and cream beach parasols. All rooms have butler service and the attentive staff will ensure that you won’t need to lift a finger during your stay, so you can enjoy the perfect Mauritius holiday experience in 2026/2027.

 

Accommodation is in 163 spacious garden- or sea-facing rooms and suites. Decorated in a classical style, they all feature sumptuous sofas, opulent marble bathrooms and a private balcony or terrace.

Facilities at The Residence include a fitness centre, a luxurious Sanctuary Spa, complimentary water sports that include water-skiing, and a PADI dive centre at a neighbouring sister hotel.

At The Residence Hotel Mauritius are two poolside restaurants, one offering a sumptuous international buffet, the other serving light lunches. There is also a renowned Creole-style restaurant that specialises in local seafood. All of the restaurants offer children’s menus and the spa offers treatments that are specially for kids. Afternoon tea, evening cocktails and live music can be enjoyed in the elegant lounge bar. A beach barbecue is hosted each week, as well as fun Mauritian cooking classes.
