Ol Tukai Lodge

Ol Tukai Lodge shares in the rich cultural history of Amboseli involving The Maasai Community, The Colonial Government and The Early European explorers. The culmination of all these defines hospitality offering of authentic African Safari experience and culture. The lodge opened its doors in 1996, on the original setup for the film crew who shot Snow at Kilimanjaro in 1948 starring Gregory Peck, Susan Hayward and Ava Gardner – an adaptation of The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Other Stories, a compendium of short stories authored by Ernest Hemingway that was published in 1961.

  All rooms are strategically positioned to either a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro or the wildlife. We go a step further to provide mosquito-repellant ointment. Storage facilities include a safe for your valuables, a closet and a baggage storage unit. There is a coffee/tea making facility that is replenished daily.

• Triple Rooms

  The beautifully appointed rooms provide comfort and a calming effect of home. The African artifacts and the wildlife decor have been painstakingly handcrafted with great attention to detail.

  

• Disability-friendly Rooms

  Situated very close to all the amenities, two rooms have been designed in accordance to the EU standards to accommodate persons with disability. A door-ramp is in place for ease of access. The furniture and room fittings are all within a reachable height. The bathrooms are specially fitted with flexible handle bars for support. These rooms lack in nothing.
