LUX* South Ari Atoll Resort & Villas

Set on one of the largest islands in the Maldives, with more than two miles of immaculate white beaches, LUX* South Ari Atoll offers luxury island living and a host of exciting experiences. For an amazing Maldives holiday, guests can achieve total relaxation at the LUX* Me Spa, with its overwater treatment rooms with a glass panel floor.

The resort has a world-class PADI diving centre, two lush infinity pools, and a house reef just a five-minute boat trip away. Guests can join a dhow boat excursion to explore the lagoon with a resident marine biologist, and can visit one of the few places where you can swim with majestic whale sharks.

Children are well catered for; there’s a fun kids’ club, and on arrival youngsters are given a treasure hunt booklet they can work on during their stay, and maybe win a prize. Grown-ups can use the fitness centre, two tennis courts, bicycle hire, and choose from a range of motorised and non-motorised water sports.

The resort provides surprise pop-up treats, such as impromptu cinema screenings on the beach. When it comes to dining, there are five bars and eight restaurants to choose from. Middle Eastern fare is on offer at Senses, top-notch Italian dishes at Allegria, or enjoy a sophisticated take on Southeast Asian street food at East Market.

Room Types

• Beach Pavilion

  Set right on the sand, these thatched-roof Beach Pavilions are chic, stylish and comfortable. They offer all the comforts of home in a beach hut setting, featuring king-size beds, bathtub, shower, and a furnished private terrace facing the ocean. Interconnecting units are available for families or friends travelling together.

  

• Beach Villas

  Chic, thatched-roof bungalows offering direct access to a secluded beach with sun loungers. Highlights include a tropical indoor-outdoor bathroom with a stand-alone bathtub. Featuring a king-size bed, a reading nook, a furnished terrace facing the beach and luxury bathroom amenities. Sleeps three adults, or two adults and two children.

  

• Beach Pool Villas

  Set on the sunset side of the island, Beach Pool Villas feature a private swimming pool and a lush indoor-outdoor bathroom with a spacious standalone bathtub. Amenities include a beach-facing furnished terrace and guests have direct access to a secluded beach. Sleeps two adults and one child.

  

• Water Villas

  Dive into the ocean straight from your Water Villa, built on stilts over the island’s lagoon. Features a light and airy design, with a natural-light flooded bathroom, a private sun terrace with sunbeds and a staircase leading into the water. There is also a catamaran net over the ocean to lounge on. Sleeps three adults or two adults and two children.

  

• Family Lagoon Pavilions

  In the two-bedroom Family Lagoon Pavilion, you couldn’t be closer to the beach even if you tried. The villa is a single unit with one entrance that leads to two separate entrances – ideal for families with kids or teenagers who would like some privacy. Offering direct beach and ocean access, the villa boasts an indoor-outdoor tropical bathroom and a furnished terrace. 

  

• Romantic Pool Water Villas

  These one-bedroom villas come with a private ocean-facing infinity plunge pool, a furnished decked area, a hanging bird’s nest swing and steps leading into the warm lagoon. Luxury amenities include a king-size bed and a drop-down projector in the bedroom, for a private cinema experience.

  

• Temptation Pool Water Villas

  Perfect for couples, this luxurious one-bedroom villa features a 14-metre private infinity pool, a jacuzzi, and direct lagoon access. A separate living room area provides ample indoor space, while the outdoor deck features sun loungers and a bird’s nest swing.
