Dubai International is world’s 5th busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic. The airport offers connectivity to more than 210 destinations across six continents. More than 125 reputed airlines operate from this world-class airport. It is also one of the first airports to offer e-gates for faster processing of immigration formalities. The Dubai International Airport is forecasted to handle an annual passenger traffic of 46 million in 2010.

Terminal Information: To reduce overcrowding in Terminal 1, a spacious single storey Terminal 2 was constructed to ensure the comfort of passengers. This building also caters to point to point, scheduled, charter, executive and special interest flights. It takes just ten minutes or so to transfer transit passengers between Terminal 1 and 2. The state of the art Terminal 3 is the latest addition to the Dubai International airport that is dedicated to the operations of the Emirates Airlines. The terminal 3 is one of the largest and most modern airport terminals in the world.

An array of services available at Shiekh Rashid Terminal Services are Dubai Duty Free, foodcourt, banking, internet services, business facilities, medical care and special needs, airport hotel, postal service, play area for children, and lounges. It also houses a wide variety of restaurants together with an impressive food court. Duty-free shopping centre at Dubai International Airport is a major attraction.

Airport Connectivity: Dubai has a very efficient public transport service and there are airport buses shuttling between the terminals, which are also served by city buses.

Taxi Services: Dubai Transport taxis are available 24 hrs a day in the city and at the Arrivals Terminal. Metered taxis are available 24 hours a day outside Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

Bus Services: Dubai International Airport Buses are specially made, air-conditioned buses with adequate space for baggage. The buses serve both the residents and tourists and ply between the airport and the important spots in the city centre connecting major hotels.

Car Hire: Car Rentals Companies available at Terminal [1] Arrival Building are: Autolease, Hertz, National, Thrifty, Sixt, United Car Rentals, Continental Auto Rental L.L.C, Dollar, Fast, Avis, Patriot, Europcar, Diamond Lease Car Rental, Budget Car and Van Rental, and Asia.

Car Parking: DCA provides car parking services to companies as well as individuals who are registered with them. Its computerised parking system is user-friendly and offers brisk service.

Lounges: At Dubai International First Class Lounge passengers can avail of a wide choice of food and beverages. These rooms provide facilities, such as, shower, luggage storage and work-stations to name a few.

Irrespective of one’s class of travel, the Dubai International Business Class lounge caters to the usual needs of all passengers. The lounge offers shower facilities and rooms which can be rented as per needs. Apart from the business facilities including workstations with computers and internet, other facilities such as a family-room and a smokers’ room are also available in the lounge.

Air France, Gulf Air, Emirates, British Airways, KLM and Star Alliance have their own dedicated lounges. For a quick nap, passengers can head for the quiet lounges and use the special reclining chairs. There are various other lounges spread all over the Concourse.

VVIP & VIP lounges: These lounges offer complete services to the passengers from food to shower facilities, business needs to escorted entrance and exits.

Food and Beverage: There are several mouth-watering food and beverage points available in the Concourse. World renowned McDonalds, Round Table Pizza and Le Matin Francais are located near the departures level. Other interesting cuisines from Bistro (Lebanese), Jashan (Indian) and Tansu Kitchen (Chinese and Mongolian barbeque) can be found in the food court. The Concourse also houses The Irish Village, Safar and Starbucks.

Shopping: Dubai Duty Free, recipient of more than 70 international awards, established in 1983 by the Government of Dubai, was the first of its kind in the Middle East. It is a shopper's paradise offering a wide range of quality products including luxury items, gold jewellery, electrical goods, cosmetics, books, toys, liquor and sports kit at the best value for money.

Business facilities: There are two business centres in this airport – Global Link and Connect. Global Link offers ISD booths, workstations, internet and other office-related services. Connect Offers one spacious conference room and five meeting rooms, work stations, a modern communication systems and full support facilities.

Facilities for differently-abled passengers: For differently-abled passengers dedicated desks are located between Rows A & B of the Departures Hall. Electric carts are available for transporting passengers with special needs. Within the Concourse there are special lounges near Gates 9 and 22 for these passengers and unaccompanied minors. Dubai International Hotel also offers special rooms for the disabled passengers.

One can avail of personalised services upon request and special visitor passes are issued to those escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers to the Departures.

Medical Facilities: Dubai International Airport houses an excellent medical centre on the ground level of the Concourse and can be spotted next to Dubai Duty Free.

Money, Postal Service and Communication: The currency exchanges, located near Gates 8, 18 and 22, in the Arrivals Hall operate 24 hrs.   There are many ATMs and payphones available at the airport. Located near Gate 18, Emirates Post operates 24 hours and offers all postal facilities including express parcel service and also the interests of the philatelists. Internet Services are available at Global Link and Connect (Dubai International Hotel), opposite the DCA First Class Lounge and the Irish Village.

Airport Hotels: Dubai International Hotel is located on the third level of the Sheikh Rashid Terminal and offers a fantastic view of the runway and the Dubai Duty Free. All rooms have TVs, mini Bars, luxurious bathrooms and a safe and are available also on an hourly basis. Special rooms for the disabled are also available.

Exclusive Service: The Al Majlis is a special facility at Dubai International Airport offering passengers specialized and personalized services such as special check-in, immigration and baggage clearance facilities. Passengers wishing to use the Al Majlis can do so upon request and payment.

Extra Services: Special prayer rooms - separate for men and women are also available within the Concourse and the Arrivals terminal.
