Visitors from the UK need a visa, issued for a maximum period of 30 days for entering Sri Lanka. You can get the visa on arrival but it is advisable to get it online before the travel. For up-to-date advice on visas, check with the Sri Lankan High Commission in the UK. A number of airlines run direct and indirect flights from London Gatwick (LGW), London Heathrow (LHR) and other major UK airports to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka. SriLankan Airlines runs non-stop flights from LHR, taking up to 10hrs 30mins to land in Colombo.
