The Portswood Hotel

The Portswood Hotel has 102 guestrooms spread over four floors. Rooms are decorated in neutral colours with cream and navy blue bedlinen and cherry wood furnishings. The Quarterdeck restaurant is an intimate dining area with original stone-work, wooden-beamed ceilings and low lighting. Guests can sample a wide selection of local dishes prepared in the traditional Cape Malay cooking style which mixes sweet and savoury flavours using spices and other seasonings. Guests of The Portswood Hotel have full access to all leisure facilities at the next door Commodore Hotel including free use of the fitness centre, sauna and swimming pool as well as access to the onsite wellness spa which offers a range of beauty therapies and treatments.

Room Types

• Standard Rooms:

  The PortsWood offers Standard rooms which are decorated in a nautical style.

  The rooms are slightly smaller than the rooms at their brother hotel, The Commodore.

  There is a choice of twin or double beds in the rooms.

  Each room is ideal for business travelers with all the right amenities.

• Mini-Suites:

  The PortsWood offers 9 Mini-Suites which are bright and spacious and decorated in a nautical style.

  The Mini-suites are located on the top floor of the hotel and offer larger bathroom and a small lounge area with seating.

  To ensure a restful night, the suite has a king-size bed.

  All suites also have the standard features on offer at the PortsWood.

  Each room has en-suite bathroom facilities with electrical razor sockets, as well as a guest restroom.
