Montego Bay may be known for its golden beaches and palm-lined hills, but there's more to the second largest city in Jamaica than just this. Montego Bay is best explored through its quaint architecture, verdant plantations and lush gardens. Some of the best accommodation options in Montego Bay are in the urban suburb of Ironshore where you can check yourself in at some of the best beachfront properties with a private access to the beach. The Harbour Street is known for its Crafts Market and the Gloucester Avenue, also known as The Hip Strip, is the hub of some of the best restaurants, art galleries and duty free souvenir shops in the Montego Bay.
Some of the most popular places of tourist interest in Montego Bay include the Doctor's Cave Beach as well as the Cornwall Beach. These are excellent places to spend some quality time with your family while sunbathing and building sandcastles. For adventure seekers, both Doctor's Cave Beach and Cornwall Beach present excellent opportunities for snorkelling, swimming, diving and other beach activities. Rose Hall, Rocklands Bird Sanctuary, the Centerstage Theatre, the White Witch of Rose Hall, Fort Montego and Saint Paul's United Church are among other places that attract the visitors. The Aqua Sol Theme Park is a great place to visit for the families. Visiting Dunn’s River Falls & Park, which is two hours away from Montego Bay by road, is also highly recommended.
Montego Bay Shopping Center and Montego Bay Hip Strip are terrific places to collect some souvenirs for back home. You can expect to find Jamaican coffee, Jamaican spices, scented body oils, local crafts etc. Pier One Seafood, Evelyn's, Pork Pit, Day-O Plantation Restaurant, and Belfield 1794 are some of the best places to eat in Montego Bay whereas Royal Stocks English Pub is the most recommended for a night of partying in the city.
